The full suspension frames also have the advantage of the “Flip-Chip” system, an aluminium part with a variable position so you have 9 mm to play with for the rear shock, 1° for the angleset and 10 mm for the bottom bracket, all of which significantly changes the performance of the bike.

HPR 120S Motor

Aside from the frame, FLYON models boast the masterpiece, the Haibike HPR 120S motor. This motor was designed and manufactured in Germany in collaboration with TQ. It provides a very high level torque, reaching 120 Nm, making it, simply put, the most powerful motor on the market! It gives you what you need to tackle steep slopes, sail through any track and explore new frontiers. As well as being incredibly powerful, this motor is ultra-compact and is perfectly modulated thanks to the five tailored modes of assistance.

To project the motor from spatter and impact that is inherent to electric mountain biking, Haibike, the first manufacturer in the world to integrate a skid plate in 2012, naturally fitted their Flyon range bikes with a specific plate made of a reinforced composite material.

Chainring

To benefit as much as possible from what you can do with an HPR 120S motor, Haibike designed a purpose-made Direct Mount chainring, available with both 38 or 42 teeth, which adapts to your pedalling pace and transmits power in an optimal manner. What’s more, this chainring has a Narrow/Wide design to keep the chain perfectly in place in any circumstance.

Battery

To power the HPR 120S motor, it was clearly necessary to develop a purpose-made battery. To do this, Haibike called upon BMZ. The result: a 48 V battery with a 630 Wh capacity. On the inside, the battery connects using a magnet and can be secured against theft using a lock that was developed in collaboration with Abus. The battery level can be checked using a touch sensor. The watertight battery can be charged using a 4-amp charger either directly from the bike or separately, once it has been removed.

Remote

Haibike developed a central interface between the pilot and the system, which comes as a remote that can be used intuitively and is perfectly ergonomic: the mode selector is mounted on the handlebar and can be accessed using your thumb, even when cycling; there is also an LED band on the side that changes colour according to the assistance level selected.
