CUBE - World

Cube World

History

Cube was founded in 1993 by Marcus Pürner, a young student at the University of Munich with a passion for bikes. This company is now a leader in the cycling industry. Marcus first created a bike shop with his friend, Michael Prell, who is now head of design. The shop had a surface area of 30 m² and was located on the premises of his father’s furniture company in Waldershof, Bavaria (Germany). The two young entrepreneurs quickly decided to go even further by designing their own frames. This marked the launch of Cube and, from then on, its success has been unfailing. The company has strong yet simple principles: offer flawless models that provide both a high level of performance and maximum steering enjoyment. Cube rapidly won over a large amount of people with its full range of products. It includes dozens of models with a huge variety of frames and equipment, from MTBs to road bikes, as well as Triathlon, Cyclocross, Gravel, hybrid, trekking and city bikes. The company also has notable expertise in the field of electric bikes and provides models that have been specially developed for women and children.

Cube is still based in Waldershof, a few hundred meters away from its historic premises. This is where the company creates, tests and even fully assembles (almost unheard of nowadays in this industry) all of its bikes from A to Z in its ultra-modern 40,000 m² factory where it also builds its own wheels. Cube makes about 500,000 bikes every year, which are sold in over 60 countries. This volume makes Cube one of the biggest brands in this sector.

Athletes

Cube had the clever idea of harnessing the expertise and unique instinct of high level athletes to assist its engineers and product managers in developing new models.

Therefore, the brand has two teams: the Cube Action Team, who is mainly found at the Enduro World Series (EWS) with Zakarias Johansen and Gusti Wildhaber, and the Cube Global Squad featuring the talented and creative Phil Atwill, the young and up-and-coming German, Max Hartenstern, who you will find at CrankWorx and the DH World Cup events, and Frenchman, Gaëtan Vigé who, at only 20 years old, has already placed on 6 Junior Downhill World Cup Podiums.

Factory Pilot

Cube is also home to a passionate team of ambassadors who are just as comfortable behind the scenes as they are on a saddle. Having come in 12th place at the 2016 Red Bull Rampage and with videos with several million views, DH rider Rémy Métailler is indeed Cube's perfect representative.
Aside from his web content and performances, this Frenchman is contributing his expertise to the brand so they can improve their existing products and develop new ones.

Rémy Metailler

Rémy is one of the most talented riders of his generation and is already a legend in his field. He contributes to the development of new CUBE products and tests them during his training sessions and competitions so CUBE can benefit from all his expertise.

When it comes to Triathlons, Cube has supported the Raelert brothers for many years. Andreas and Michael Raelert have achieved countless victories on the ITU and Ironman circuit. And we also have the 2018 winner of the Ironman in Mexico, Svenja Thoes, the multiple Ironman 70.3 winner, Andi Böcherer, European middle distance triathlon vice-champion, Florian Angert, and the promising Frederic Funk and the Erdinger alkoholfrei team to boot.

Philosophy

Cube goes beyond pure performance and the pleasure of sport. Cube sees bicycles as a life philosophy. This is why it creates bikes for everyone: competitors, occasional riders and cyclists who see bikes as a great way to travel, whether as an everyday means of transport to go to uni, work or shopping, or for a trip around the world.
Whether they were created to go fast, keep your muscles comfortable or give you electric power, Cube bikes are all characterised by their careful manufacturing and great attention to the tiniest of details. Also, their carbon frames have a three-year warranty and the aluminium frames have a six-year warranty.
