The E-Escarpe is an all-mountain eMTB designed for singletrack, after work laps, and for those looking for a pedal-assist alternative to a standard trail bike. Its balanced geometry is a blast uphill and down, and its Shimano EP600 drive system is intuitive and can be tuned to suit the way you ride. It’s an eMTB for the rider who wants a nimble and responsive e-bike; a bike that’s a little less of an e-enduro brawler and instead a little more versatile and responsive.
Closely based on the award-winning Escarpe trail bike, the E-Escarpe is powered by the grunty Shimano STEPS EP600 drive unit and a 630Wh battery. This motor system makes 85Nm of climb-eating torque and peaks at 250w of power — a capable tool in an all-mountain setting.
The goal was to make an eMTB that handled exactly like the rock-solid Escarpe trail bike, which is exactly where the designers landed. Development on the E-Escarpe started with the original Escarpe frame, small tweaks to make room for the EP801 drive system and the adjusted geometry for eMTB use. The result is an e-bike chassis that’s efficient on climbs and an absolute blast on descents; flickable enough to rail switchbacks and blitz rock gardens while still placing emphasis on uphill efficiency. It’s what Vitus envisions as the ideal all-day, do-anything, ride-anywhere eMTB.
The E-Escarpe VR is built around Shimano’s Deore 11-speed drivetrain and a set of SRAM DB8 4-piston hydraulic brakes. The suspension is a 150 mm RockShox 35 Gold RL fork paired with a RockShox Super Deluxe Select R shock with 140 mm of travel in the rear. The rest of the kit is finished with WTB ST Light i30 wheels and Nukeproof components. Built for variable terrain, after-work power laps, and undulating days in the saddle, the E-Escarpe is the perfect tool for any job.
