Are you that mountain biker?
Your buddies are inwardly preparing for hot biking adventures when you invite them on a "quiet tour"? Your favorite laps always take you along paths that can't be found on any map? Your tours start with the first rays of the sun and end with a shared beer after sunset? Your bike must do everything and always be a faithful companion? Are you exactly the type of mountain biker we're talking about here? Then the Orbea Occam is the perfect bike for you!
150 mm travel
Modern trail bikes are used for impressively versatile rides. Some riders climb climbs that are thousands of meters long, while others do lap after lap in bike parks, with endless jumps.
Trail geometry
Flat steering head angle - More stability
Low crank - More natural cornering
Longer cockpit - More freedom of movement with more balance
Longer axis distance - stability at high speeds
Higher saddle angle - More appropriate pedaling position
Short seat tube - For long dropper posts
Carbon OMR
The OMR (Orbea Monocoque Race) frames are the only ones that combine high modulus fibers with high strength fibers. The prepreg sheets of pre-impregnated carbon are cut to size with lasers to minimize excess before a lengthy process of preforming is used to achieve optimum compaction with the least amount of material. Thanks to the mold made entirely of expanded polystyrene (EPS), wrinkles and voids are avoided.
Asymmetrical - strength
The right-side support consolidates and stiffens an area subject to high stress. Instead of using a less effective "shock tunnel," the Occam's structure diverts the shock to the left side of the frame, allowing the asymmetrical support to take a more direct path. This straight line, which follows the shock absorber structure, is the most effective way to neutralize the suspension forces in the front triangle.
Asymmetrical - ergonomics and balance
The asymmetric offset design brings unique advantages beyond stiffness and weight savings. The shock absorber is mounted so that its settings are surprisingly easy to reach, and the small dimensions leave enough space for an easily accessible water bottle.
