Description
Due to delays in global supply chains, Manufacturer may have replaced some original components with equivalent or higher quality components. In some cases, the bike delivered may differ from the images.

Designed around Nukeproof’s legendary Mega platform, the Megawatt is a long travel enduro bike with a motor. After winning multiple accolades and podiuming at the E-Enduro World Series, the Megawatt receives several key updates. The Megawatt frame won over riders with a blend of dialled geometry and suspension kinematics. As an evolution of the Megawatt frame, Nukeproof has rerouted the brake, gear, and dropper cables to improve routine maintenance of the frame. All internal cables now run into and through the downtube in dedicated mounting points. These can be easily accessed when removing the battery.

All new Shimano STePs EP801 Drive System
The heart of the Megawatt is the all-new Shimano STEPS EP801 drive system. The EP801 system is a highly controllable, high-performance power unit with a maximum torque of 85Nm. The result is a quiet motor that offers a natural ride feel with smooth power delivery. The EP801 motor also has improved heat management to allow riders to use maximum power for longer.

The Megawatt 297 Comp is specified and designed to offer incredible performance and durability. The Comp model comes specced with the 10-speed Microshift Advent-X drive train. A wide-range 11-48t cassette paired with the group’s crisp and positive shifting make this one of the best performing drivetrains in the sector. The 10-speed gear spread also has fantastic durability when combined with the Megawatt’s power.

Modern Enduro inspired Race Geometry
Lower, longer, steeper and slacker. The Megawatt’s geometry is designed around Nukeproof’s saddle offset principle which optimises seated weight distribution for each frame size. This results in steeper seat angles across the board but especially on larger sizes, producing longer reach figures to ensure a comfortable cockpit on each size. To further aid the perfect fit we have also used shorter seat tubes which are designed to maximise seat post insertion depths. Finally, all Megawatt bikes are designed to use short offset forks to further improve both climbing and descending capabilities.

Progressive, supple and supportive 4-bar horst suspension platform
The Megawatt uses a 4-bar Horst linkage designed to be super supple over small bumps while remaining progressive through the mid-stoke for support when pedalling, cornering, and pumping. There’s also increased end-stroke leverage to allow more tuning options with volume spacers. The kinematic is designed to have higher levels of anti-squat for climbing gears, but this reduces as you drop down the cassette. The result is a bike that is more confidence inspiring everywhere on the hill. It behaves itself on the climbs yet can still be thrashed through the roughest and most technical terrain on the way back down. The Megawatt also has a wide SAG range (30%-35%) to allow the rider to tune the characteristics of the bike to their preferences.

Durable and lightweight alloy frame with internal battery
The Megawatt was designed from the outset to optimise the performance of the Shimano EP801 Motor and battery. Crafted from hydroformed 6061 aluminium, the Megawatt shares characteristics and tube shapes with its Mega sibling but features several notable differences. A one-piece cast aluminium bottom bracket shell was to house the Shimano STEPS EP801 motor. The downtube has been optimised for maximise strength and rigidity, whilst providing easy access to remove the internal battery for charging or transportation.

Sizing and wheel standard
Whilst humans may not have changed size much in recent years, the bikes they choose to ride most certainly have. To ensure a perfectly dialled fit the bikes are now offered in S, M, L, XL and XXL. A 29” wheel up front maximises grip and rolling efficiency whilst the 27.5” wheel out back allows the bike to run shorter chainstays, ensuring nimble handling and maximising manoeuvrability. The rear chainstays also benefit from a 3D-moulded chain guard to keep the frame protected and running quiet.
