If the Undertaker rode a mountain bike, he would undoubtedly ride the Process X CR/DL. The Process X is a monster on the trails that has nothing else in mind but to tear up riders on the most technical terrain. The carbon frame is equipped with the brand new Fox fork with 170 mm travel and a Fox Float X shock with 161 mm travel. A Shimano drivetrain ensures maximum range when it comes to the connecting stages between trails. Kona has put on some extremely coarse Maxxis EXO casing tires - Assegai in the front and Minion DHR II in the rear - for the coarse stuff. The Shimano Deore brakes provide mega stopping power, but who needs brakes when you're on the road so much?
Kona Carbon
Designed to be lightweight and to meet demanding standards.Carbon fibers have long been lauded for their weight and strength, but instead of chasing grams, Kona focuses on the performance that's possible when the right high-modulus fibers are in the right places. Their designers work very closely with the manufacturer to ensure that there is no compromise on the desired ride characteristics, durability and - ultimately - the weight specifications they expect from their bikes.
Internal control rate
The bearing shells are actually pressed into the frame and are easily removable. An internal headset also reduces the stack height, making the height of the stem and handlebars more adjustable and giving the rider the best possible fit.
Tapered head tube
A larger circumference at the bottom of the head tube better distributes shock forces, extends the life of the headset itself and eliminates brake judder, while providing a more secure steering response. The inherent strength of the triangular design also means a stronger steering position and improved balance, giving the rider more control over rough terrain. A Zero-Stack tapered head tube puts power where it's needed - in the lower headset shell - and maximizes bearing durability where it's needed.
Tubeless compatible rims
Tubeless rims allow tires with higher puncture resistance, the ability to run lower tire pressure, which provides better tire grip on the trail, lower rolling resistance and weight savings over traditional tube and tire systems.
Beamer independent suspension
The Beamer independent suspension is designed to be progressive. It helps the bike stay higher in suspension travel and recover more quickly from shocks. The controls feature what product managers like to call "pure damper movement," which protects the damper from side loading. Designed to be highly tunable and extremely durable, the Beamer IS is their version of the oiled flash.
