With its rugged, three inches of adjustable suspension travel, the Ibex trailer will follow you to the ends of the earth. Ride single track, riverbeds and washboarded roads, the Ibex will faithfully bring your gear, tools and supplies. Its 70 pound (32 kg) capacity means you can go farther and see more without leaving anything behind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Riding The Great Divide Trail Used my BoB Ibex on the Great Divide Trail for about 3,000 miles. It is difficult to go lightweight on this trip because of resupply points for water and food, so it is possible that you can carry 15 pounds of water and food on top of the gear. A good recommendation is that if your BoB is getting heavy, move some of the weight to the front of the bike to better balance out the load and improve handling.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How could you travel without it? I made several travels by bike with this trolley. Where I live, the Alps - our mountains - and the sea are close to each other, so this Bob Ibex have travelled in a lot of different environments. What I can say is that I never had problems during travel. Since Bob Ibex barycenter is low, you maintein the agility of the MTB even if you have more than 20kg grabbed on the bike's back. Additionally you have grip on ascent, back wheel doesn't slip. In descent, you keep the freedom of an All-Mountain MTB. You are able to bike normally even if you have all the equipment that you need with you. The bag volume is big: everything stays inside and you don't need a bag pack. This is a good advantage for long journeys, especially in hot places, since you can bike with your back free. In some situations - like fallen trees on the road - you can easy unplug the Ibex from the bike and move it by hand, bringing everything with the handle of the bag, which is fixed to the trolley.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent device when you can't be ultra-light I've had my Ibex for over 5 years. Used it on numerous bikepacking trips including GDMBR. My wife and I travel together. She is nearly half my size so I carry most of the gear to keep our respective total loads at a similar %-of-body-weight. The Ibex has been awesome on single tracks, forest service roads, and even on interstate hiways. I recomend the Ibex suspension because it reduces the effort to pull the trailer over rooty and rock surfaces. It's about compliance to not rob your power - not about a smooth ride for your stuff. Using the Ibex gives me more speed and better handling than with the same weight in panniers. Below 35 pounds I hardly know it's back there. Above 40 pounds and things begin to get awkward. My favorable pulling experiences have been with 27.5 and 29 mountain bikes, and with a 27.5 x 3" Surly ECR. The BoB Ibex is a very robustly designed piece of equipment. The only complaint I have ever had is with not being able to open or close the BoB bag while it is in the trailer. Such a pain in the butt that we plan lunch ingredients in the morning so that we don't have to wrestle with the BoB bag again until unpacking at the next campsite.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suspension increased handling safety dramatically over rooty trails Get the Ibex for any off road riding. The Yak bounces high over every root and sometimes to the side throwing off rider balance. We had both. The Ibex even though heavily loaded was very stable over roots and rocks at speed. While I liked the suspension, the design could be improved with bearings or bushings at the pivot point and a more solid connection at the shock. The current design rattles quite a bit. I'd also like to see an option for a 20" wheel with 3" or 4" tire, preferably tubeless.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Well Having never used a trailer I didn't know what to expect. I did know that when my bike itself was packed with bikepacking stuff it didn't handle very well and I was constantly worried I was going to break the rack or the frame (which I did both). The trailer was much better going through rough stuff. The bike still didn't handle that great because when the load shifts over from side to side there is a point where it wants to keep going causing the bike to veer around. I did a 95 mile trip in the desert. In the soft sand sections the little rear tire is a lot of drag. It would be nice if BOB offered a version with a 3" tire for some more float. On hard ground the thing rolled along with no problem and the suspension absorbed well. I'm going to make an aluminum fold down kick stand for the trailer so I can leave the bike attached an not have everything tip over when stopped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best for single tracking... I've now owned the Bob Yak and Ibex, and am now upgrading to the Yak 28 swing-arm. I've toured and back country traveled and there is no better system for bike packing, touring or trail maintenance work. In Bend, Oregon, the COTA group uses Bob trailers for tools, fuel and saws. I use mine to backcountry hunt, trail maintenance, and the IBEX for an occasional grocery store run (I need more pictures). My company makes soft goods including Panniers and I'm using my large backpack, the Greengate to put into the trailer, as it fits perfectly upside down; and with waterproof fabric my gear stays dry behind the bike and I reassemble my backpack and hunt from where i stash the bike.
