ALTRA ESCALANTE 3 Women's Running Shoes Black 2023 is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 236.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Toe holes I love the fit of this shoe so much- it's the most comfortable I've ever found. But the top of the shoe got holes within just a few months which was incredibly disappointing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from How do I get this message to the designers? I love altras, I have 3 different models and have also bought my dad a couple pairs as well. But... is it possible to refine the features offered here? For example, I use the Escalante for road running. In Portland. Where it rains. The toe is constantly getting WET and so dirty because the entire foot is that sock like material. Socks are notorious for soaking up water. Can we get a little waterproof toe guard please? Maybe some DWR? Also, for ROAD shoes, you would think some reflective would be offered somewhere. My Superior's have reflective, but if that is truly a "trail" shoe, why is it more necessary to have reflective on there than on a road shoe, in a CITY, where we are much more likely to get hit by traffic and where there are more headlights to actually illuminate the shoe? I'm so confused by the feature sets here.... I love Altra for the footbed and zero drop and cushioning and am always on the look out when new pairs come out, but I really think some additional thought could be put into the features and kinds of shoes that are offered. Also, the lifestyle shoes really don't look like lifestyle at all. Lifestyle is supposed to look more versatile and wearable and I really don't feel it's hitting the mark. Please give me a reason to buy more shoes from Altra!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best I have Found overall for PF for Dailey Wearing! I've been dealing with PF for months, I've found these to be the best for overall wearing. Enough cushion with the Zero Drop. They have worked GREAT for me!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Laces are too short for high arches I love the look and feel of these shoes, but the laces are too short. I have very high arches and because the laces make me have to tie my shoes tighter than typical my toes go numb and my feel ache if I wear them too long.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long Distance Walking Shoe Purchased for 5+ miles walks. Typically wear Vivos for walks/everyday/gym but need something for longer distance & paved roads. Pro: Wide toe box. Feel like pillows on my feet (maybe a con!) Con: Laces too short, not flexible, maybe too much support. Overall - I like them and am trying something new.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Love the look, but they're a different shoe. I've been a big fan of the escalante, but this version has an uncomfortable (to me, maybe fine for people with a high arch) arch support that the last versions didn't, and after a handful of runs, this kickstarted plantar fasciitis for me. I still love the racers, but these are uncomfortable even wearing around town for me unfortunately. I loved Altra for the zero drop and minimal shoe that made them unique, but I hope they don't start steering away from it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from They are very tight on top of the foot I had an old version and I love it. I bought this one thinking it would be the same but They hurt my feet so bad I couldn't wait to take them off. They were super tight and the laces were super small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So comfy! Absolutely love this shoe. So thrilled with my second pair since I went a size down. I wear an 8 in the Escalante Racers, which is my favorite shoe, but an 8 in this was a little roomy. I went down to a 7 and it's perfect, I think I would have been fine in 7.5 too. They are a wonderful and versatile shoe and I love them for mid/long runs. I switched from Brooks to Altra due to a fracture in my sesamoid bone and have never looked back.
