SCOPE - A story of passion and innovation

A story
of passion
and innovation

Founded in 2013 in Holland

Founded by two passionate cyclists, Nieck Bussers and Rik Kusters, Scope is their story, the fruit of their constant striving to improve their product offer after pounding the roads and trails in the Eindhoven region of Holland for many years. Nieck and Rik are supported by an experienced team of engineers and designers.

So what in fact do these guys make?

Handbuilt carbon rims for road, gravel and MTB cycling, designed to offer unbeatable technical features. To achieve this level of excellence, Scope has established numerous partnerships with manufacturers such as Schwalbe and SKF, research centres such as the Eindhoven and Delft Universities of Technology and pro riders.

Their products are tested to the extreme, redesigned

And continuously improved to achieve the highest possible level of performance. Specific to each discipline, they offer the perfect compromise between aerodynamics, lightweight, stiffness and durability.

To make things a little clearer, we highlight below the different technologies that make Scope wheelsets unique!

Technologies

To find the best possible aerodynamic profile for its wheels, Scope uses Algorithm Enhanced Aerodynamics that takes into account the different important factors, such as the depth and design of the rim. Thanks to this computer-based method, the company adds further assessment to their tests in real conditions. And by adopting this global research method, the company manages to produce high performance wheels.
For their Race series, Scope has fitted Diamond Ratchet hubs to their rims. Light in weight and offering a direct pick-up, this technology also significantly increases the durability of the wheel for optimal performance and product life.
As mentioned above, Scope relies on numerous partnerships to develop its products. The result of close collaboration with the University of Delft, Local Reinforcement technology is a perfect example of this initiative that allows the thickness of the carbon to be reinforced at strategic points while optimising it elsewhere. This reduces rim weight while maintaining excellent stiffness and strength.

If Scope’s wheels are perfect when racing, they are also unbeatable for everyday training. With the help of Schwalbe, the brand has developed the Scope Tubeless System (STS®), or in other words the perfect internal rim profile for tubeless.

Compatible with all tubeless tyres, this technology (for a maximum tyre pressure of 8.6 bar/125 PSI) allows for easy tyre fitting, rapid inflation, and optimal pressure.

Teams and Ambassadors

Scope’s rims are in the spotlight due to their numerous sponsoring of cycling teams and world-famous athletes. Not just an ordinary showcase, these sponsorships provide Scope with valuable feedback to improve their product.
