The best fanny I never knew I needed
This fanny has quickly replaced my ride pack because it holds everything just as well and is still super comfortable. I can fit in all my tools, snacks, 1L of water and a light jacket no problem!

Best hip pack on the market!
I use this hip pack primarily for mountain biking and it is hands down the best hip pack I've ever used. I race enduro / downhill and through all the jumps & bumps it surprisingly never moves. The straps cinch down small, the water weight is distributed in the wings and it's smartly designed to stay in place. With the 1.5L bladder I use it for all rides that are under 3 hours. It has enough pockets to stash all your small bits and tools and still plenty of room for snacks and a jacket. By far, my favorite piece of outdoor gear!

Surprisingly Amazing
I have always had trouble with hip pack fit and as such have low expectations when I try a new product. Needless to say I was blow away by this one. At first glance, I was very apprehensive about the likelihood of it staying in place (this is my most common issue), it has a TON of space for a hip pack but that made me think the weight of the contents would sit too far off of my back and cause the pack to head towards my lap. This thing didn't budge. I even put a couple beers in there for one ride and not only did it not move, it was remarkably comfortable! The strap also *finally allows for it to be cinched tight enough (my 2nd most common issue), I have long had packs that just won't tighten enough around my waist but this has plenty to go even once it's tight enough. For long rides that don't require a full pack (and even if it might) this thing is my new go-to. I can fit tools, hydration, layers and even beers if I want, and I don't feel like I have anything on. I will continue to wear the heck out of this thing and amend this if anything comes up but in the meantime I am supremely (and surprisingly) satisfied.

Superior hip pack for hiking and biking.
I used the Pulse 3 for training and all 539 miles of the Colorado Trail Race. I was very impressed with the light weight, durability (got caught in a bit of a torrential downpour and battled mudslides and 100's of down trees on a training ride) and comfort. I also raced enduro with the Pulse and it can withstand a crash, yet stays put during gnarly descents. I packed a goretex shell, Platypus, sat phone and various tools and toiletries in here for 7.5 days on the CTR and it handled the weight flawlessly. I get low back pain if I wear a backpack, but I needed all the space I could get out there. The Pulse 3 satisfied all my needs.
Happy accident- I went with the red instead of my preferred blue and I LOVE it. Plays nice with all colors.
Recently, I separated my shoulder and did a lot of hiking with the Pulse 3 and it rocked just as nicely in that discipline.

My Favorite Fanny!
I've been using the Pulse 3 for approximately 3 months. After trying all the others (2 Dakine, Camelback, Evoc and one other), I find the Deuter Pulse 3 to fit snugly and comfortably against my back while staying put. Pocket sizes and bladder are generous enough to accommodate fluids and supplies for a long ride. For shorter rides, the side adjustable straps make compressing the pack super easy. In conversing with another user, the only thing that could make this pack better would be dual zippers for the main compartments and outside straps to attach a rain jacket or stuff sack.
Overall, this pack is by far my favorite!!

Awesome fully featured hip pack that stays put!
I've tried several options for hip packs and this Deuter Pulse 3 tops them all. The first thing I love is that I can cinch it snug and it won't bounce when I go over drops and jumps while mountain biking. I also love the pocket configuration as it's easy to organize my tools. I race enduro professionally so it's important to have easy access to CO2, snacks, and an easy water system. The side hip pockets fit a phone and enough snacks without bulking out. The larger pocket fits my small first aid, the water bladder, a pump, and my packable rain jtkt. Thanks Deuter for making my now favorite pack for every day riding and racing!

Hands down best fanny for MTB!
As an avid mountain biker coach & racer, I have tried every fanny/hip pack on the market (Evoc, Camelback, Dakine...you name it) and Deuter finally nailed it! Every hip pack seems to have some level of bounce, riding up, or not enough water storage. Not this one...this one was ingeniously engineered and it must have been by mountain bikers. There are pockets for all the small tools/bits, a 2L bladder that's evenly distributed, the bladder design and thick straps make it so there is literally no bounce, and it's plenty big for rides under 3/4 hours! I'm in LOVE with this thing!!! Finally a perfect MTB hip pack!
