GTR TEAM DISC is a special version of GTR TEAM available with Flat Mount disc brakes, a new technology from Shimano for the Spring of 2015. The rear triangle, in addition to being designed asymmetrically, is designed to accommodate 28mm tires, in line with the latest market trends that see strong growth in the disc gravel bike sector. GTR TEAM DISC can also be used in UCI races for the coming seasons.

Rear stays
The rear stays have been designed to be comfortable but stiff to enhance ride quality. As you can see from the image, the seatstays have a larger cross section close to the seat-tube junction for stiffness and efficiency. Moving away from the seat-tube, the seatstays taper to a thin, flat cross section for improved shock absorption.

Chainstays
From 2008 any new Wilier Triestina frame has featured the asymmetric rear stay design. Note that the plate under the bottom bracket is same as used on the Cento1SR. In line with the latest tyre/wheel developments, all new GTR frames will have clearance for 28mm tyres.

Fork
The fork is smoothly integrated into the Head Tube in a similar way to the Cento 1 Air design. The fork blades have a Kamm tail section for aerodynamic efficiency

Rear dropout area
The replaceable dropout used in the new GTR SL & GTRTEAM is the same as used in the 2015 GTR. Both mechanical and electronic cables can be fitted to the same dropout and the cable entry port is large enough for electrical connectors to pass through, including Campagnolo EPS.
