Cipollini Dolomia Rival AXS - Lightness has a form
Former sprint world champion and company founder Mario Cipollini existed in a world of superlatives, and his Cipollini brand is no different.
The Dolomia frame is the lightest in the Cipollini range and is manufactured using the company's own TCM process (True Carbon Monocoque). This is not just any conventional monocoque frame but is actually made from one piece rather than having the rear triangle inserted afterwards, as is the case with most commercially available monocoque frames. This achieves a high degree of stiffness at low weight, which is also helped by the 3K finish on the carbon lamination. In size M, the frame weighs just 780 grams. The geometries are optimised for each frame size, so the bike is incredibly responsive throughout the range.
Optimised aerodynamics
Thanks to the unique construction of the fork and headset, completely internal cable routing ensure a clean design and aerodynamic advantages. The seat stays are also aerodynamically optimised. The fork is straight to give you direct feedback from the road surface.
A perfectly tuned set-up
While tradition-conscious Italian brands have long been reluctant to install disc brakes on road bikes, Cipollini now uses powerful hydraulic disc brakes from Sram. This version of the Dolomia is equipped with Sram's lightweight premium group: the Red-eTap-AXS, which offers precise and smooth electronic shifting. It's wireless, so it contributes to the clean design, and thanks to the X-Range system it offers a wide gear range and customisability via the Sram AXS app. A double chainring with 48 and 35 teeth at the front and a large 12-speed 10-33 cassette give you the ability to tackle any situation. Fans of structured, watt-oriented training are treated to a QUAQ powermeter on the crank. The carbon handlebars from Deda and the lightweight Tune Schwarzbrenner wheels, together with the fast 25 mm Vittoria tyres, help keep the race-oriented bike well below a total weight of 7 kg. This version of the Dolomia weighs in below the UCI specifications at an incredible 6.53 kg.
The result of intensive research
The Dolomia is a powerful, agile, well-balanced all-rounder that wants to climb, sprint, and race through tight bends. Thanks to the hydraulic disc brakes, the Dolomia has generous 29 mm tyre clearance so you can always add wider tyres to up the comfort level when needed.
Mario Cipollini invests a great deal of time and passion in research and development work to keep coming up with innovative, high-performance frame designs that are also exceptionally aesthetically and emotionally appealing. His team at the company headquarters in Verona includes the best engineers in the industry.
The brand relies on transparent production chains and Italian craftsmanship: the bikes are developed and produced mainly in Italy, including production still done by hand. The carbon lamination takes place in the Cipollini Bike Centre in Bosnia under the supervision of Italian experts. Cipollini tests the materials together with professional teams, which the brand also partially sponsors.
The Dolomia has professional racing genes, but ambitious riders with a love of Italian design will have just as much fun with this superbike.
