Description

Campagnolo Super Record® EPS is the lightest electronic drivetrain in the World. A technology concentrate capable of unparalleled performances.

High-end technical solutions, create care for details and the extensive use of carbon fibre make Super Record® EPS the technological dream of every cyclist.

EPS Ergopower controls represent the direct “electronic” evolution of the well-proven mechanical Ergopower. Maintaining the special features, unaltered, the operating philosophy (one lever one action), Campangolo's trademark click feeling, Multishifting technology for the rear derailleur lever, the excellent ergonomics, the comfort of the brakes and the extreme braking efficiency.

THE MODE KEY In addition to the 3 classic levers, the EPS Ergopower controls are equipped with what is known as a MODE key. By pressing on it briefly you can view the battery charge level, whereas by pressing on it longer you will enter adjustment mode without ever taking your hands off the controls.

COMFORT The shape places the levers in a position that is easy to access at all times, without any effort at all, regardless of the steering position and whatever the size of your hands. By studying the positions of cyclists' hands, in fact, there were found to be 3 different riding positions depending on the route and riding style itself. These studies made it possible to create the special and exclusive shape of the EPS Ergopower controls, which unlike the mechanical controls, are equipped with a dedicated hood and the control body is made from a very new material that is more rigid and lighter.

EFFECTIVE BRAKING The Ultra-Shift™ shape of the levers, as with the mechanical controls allows you to act on the brakes more powerfully. When you have a high grip on the handlebars, especially, it is possible to put the brakes on with more power and faster.

Click Feeling
The levers, even though they are not mechanical, manage to simulate the classic Campagnolo Click Feeling thanks to the application of MultiDometechnology.
When your fingers press the lever it pushes a sensor composed of various metal layers that create the sensation of a mechanical action.

Digital Tech Intelligence
DTI, Digital Tech Intelligence is housed inside the Power Unit and it continuously monitors the signals that arrive from all the EPS components, thus managing their operation.

The main functions of the DTI are:
• controlling and managing the battery pack
• enabling and monitoring the rear derailleur and derailleur
• signalling any faults through the RGB LED
• communicating with the interface
• activating the acoustic buzzer

E2 Ergonomy
The design of the body of the control conforms perfectly to your hands.
The shape of the control reproduces the asymmetry of the human hand perfectly, increasing the amount of surface that is in contact with the palm of the hand and allowing you to use different gripping positions with your hands and guarantee maximum safety in all riding positions.
The position of lever 3 has been improved in comparison to the mechanical controls, making it easier to use even when your hands are gripping the lower part of the handlebar.  This makes it easier to change gears downhill or when you take the lead or suddenly overtake.

Multi-shifting
Thanks to the electronic evolution of the Multi-shifting technology which is already used in the mechanical units, it is possible to obtain multi shifting with 11 gear-cogs.
Thanks to the use of a sophisticated electronic system, by keeping levers 2 or 3 pressed down it is possible to continuously change gear upward or downward, by up to 11 sprockets with a single action of the levers.

There are no longer any limits to Multi-shifting and the choice is at the fingertips of the cyclist.

One lever, one action
The EPS system CONTROL levers are positioned and act according to the same logic as Campagnolo mechanical gear levers.

Lever 1        brake
Lever 2        up-shifting
Lever 3        down-shifting

Just like the mechanical version, the levers are natural and intuitive to use. Activating the levers reproduces and follows the movement of the chain on the sprockets.
For example, lever 2 of the right Ergopower, which is pressed from right to left, moves the rear derailleur and makes chain shift up by one sprocket from right to left, copying the exact movement.

Riding settings
The client can adjust the reference position of the rear derailleur and/or derailleur using the adjustment procedure known as Riding Setting.

The adjustment of the rear derailleur is designed especially in case you change the wheel for one with a set of sprockets that are positioned differently with respect to the drop out.
It is possible to start the procedure for either the rear derailleur or the derailleur from any chainring.
Every time either keys 2 or 3 is pressed, the system performs a set displacement of 0.25 mm if you act on the rear derailleur, and approximately 0.1 mm if you act on the derailleur.

When you have completed the adjustment phase, the system will correct the established positions of all chainrings based on the new settings.

Zero settings
The procedures to reset the rear derailleur and derailleur to zero are essential for the system to function.
These procedures allow the system to learn the reference positions of the chain on the sprockets and chainrings, which will be used to calculate the positions that need to be used in all operating conditions.

During the resetting to zero phase the movements of the rear derailleur and derailleur occur continuously, and not through set movements as during adjustment, and they depend on the pressure time of levers 2 and 3.

The position can be changed by even just a hundredth.

Waterproof
The Campagnolo EPS electronic drivetrain complies with IP67 international standards.

This means that the system is able to protect its electronic components from dust and liquid infiltration.

In order to achieve the IP67 classification, all the electronic components of the EPS system underwent a series of tests, which proved their ability to function perfectly under one meter of water for at least 30 minutes.
