Perceived to be the quintessential e-bike, the electric city (or urban) bike fits perfectly into the future mobility models of towns and cities as they provide numerous benefits even for people who are not familiar with cycling.
Below is a list of the different types of city e-bikes and their different uses,
Available in both women's and men's ranges, the bike’s geometry has been designed to be as close as possible to the rider’s morphology. There are also unisex step-through models which are perfect for active people who need to dress more formally.
Electric city bikes are designed foremost for their comfort and reliability. In terms of their transmission, a derailleur is preferred to a fixed gear due to the faster, sportier, response. Gearboxes are either integrated into the hub of the rear wheel (for more power when pulling away from a stop even if you hadn't anticipated stopping) or in the bottom bracket for more comfort. Some models of electric city bikes are fitted with a belt drive system in place of a chain, this offers a smoother ride, and less maintenance is required.
