Description

The Altra Timp 4 with MaxTrac outsole and multidirectional lug pattern for grippy traction on any trail. Updated collar construction for a softer and more premium fit. Altra EGO MAX midsole with mesh overlay.

FootShape Toe Box
Traditional running shoes feature pointed toe boxes that push toes out of their natural position - an increased risk for bunions, hammertoes and plantar fasciitis. With Altra's FootShape toe box, toes can relax and spread naturally and the big toe stays in a straight position. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Runs 2 sizes small I wear a 12 in Altra and bought these on sale. They arrived today and I couldn't get my foot in them. My niece who wears a 10 came over and they fit her perfectly so guess who has a new pair of shoes? (We checked inside the shoe and they are labeled 12). Otherwise cute shoe. She's a nurse and had wanted a thick-soled shoe so she's happy with them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from material split I bought this shoe last fall last year. I did not wear them much this winter as I live where it snows and don't run in the winter. I really like the fit of this shoe however I have not worn them that much this spring and the material on the outside of the right shoe has split. I also agree with the complaint of the tongue does cut into the ankle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Altra almost lost this longterm customer I have been wearing Altras for over a decade; for running, hiking, work, and travel. The past 1-2 years I noticed poor quality in the materials of a new version of the same model, sloppy tongues and short shoelaces that easily come untied. Not to mention unattractive colors. The TIMP 4 fits me better than any Altra I have purchased during the past several years. No sloppy tongue that doesn't stay in place, wide enough toe box without looking like an old ladies shoe. I purchased 2 additional pair because the TIMP 5 is already out and the reviews aren't encouraging. Altra, thank you for listening to customer feedback. My feet and I are happy.

I'm a lonepeak gal (backpacked 12 mile days in them) but these are that but more cushion and a tiny more support.I bought three pairs of this Timp style and might get more since styles change. I love these so much I wear them all day in house and all around. I forget they are on my feet they are so comfortable. I've bought about 30 pairs of Altras over the years. Everybodies feet are different so reviews are iffy. But these fit me so well. There's a Timp hiking boot that I want to try but the reviews aren't great. But they aren't great for these yet I'm in love with these. So everyone is different...guess I'll try the Timp Hiking boot next!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from New shoe design is horrible Altra has been my go to shoe for years until now. Prior styles had a wide toe box & gave me comfort with enough cushion but was still flexible. the design has changed and it's horrible, disappointed!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Meh I was excited to try Altra shoes because I've heard great things about their comfort for walking. These shoes are just OK. Not super comfortable. Not worth the price. Based on the other reviews, things have changed. I tested about 4 other pair and they were either too wide, narrow, or uncomfortable. This is the one that fit and I wish I would have returned them, too, because they're not great. There aren't many options for standard width and high cushion, and forget it if you want a weatherproof shoe. Apparently only wide feet don't need water in their shoes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor design of the tongue- cuts into top of ankle I ran in the Timp 3 for several years (purchased a few pairs initially). Loved the timp 3 but unfortunately the Timp 4 had a design change in the tongue of the shoe and it cuts into the front of my ankle. Doesn't work for me since I wear low rise socks. Not sure how this design passed quality control but hope they change it back to the old style next time around as Altras are the only shoes I wear because i need zero drop.
